What You Should Know About the Mesothelioma Illness

What is Mesothelioma? A lot of people are not aware of
this disease and thus, die due to the delay in
diagnosis. Millions of people die every year because of
cancer; it is among the most pervasive illnesses every
one of us is exposed to. Generally speaking, a cancer
is a group of diseases characterized by alarming rapid
growth of abnormal cells in the body. The disease can
affect almost any part of the body and among the most
commonly affected are the lungs. Cancer-causing
substances are everywhere, especially in the air that
we breathe so the lungs are vulnerable to several fatal
diseases. One rare cancer that affects the lungs is
Mesothelioma.Mesothelioma has been popularized only because of its
association with asbestos, a fibrous mineral form of
magnesium silicate used in fireproofing, chemical
filters, electrical insulation and others. Most of the
patients diagnosed with Mesothelioma have been
frequently exposed to asbestos. They are those who work
in construction sites, shipyards, insulator makers and
similar places. They usually inhale the impure fibers
from the asbestos that float through the air.It can be noted that there are about 30-50 per cent of
Mesothelioma patients who did not have any exposure to
asbestos, which leads to the assumption that asbestos
may not be the sole cause of Mesothelioma. There are
some Mesothelioma patients, too, that had only little
exposure to asbestos but had contracted the disease.
Activities such as washing clothes of a person who has
been exposed to asbestos can still put a person at high
risk of Mesothelioma cancer. This disease takes years
to develop so a person exposed to asbestos might be
diagnosed with Mesothelioma only after 20-50 years of
the exposure.Like other forms of cancers, Mesothelioma is named
after the part which is affected by the disease. In the
case of Mesothelioma, the malignant cells are found in
the mesothelium, a protective sac that covers different
internal organs. This protective sac produces fluid
that lubricates the organs, allowing them to move. They
allow the beating of the heart and expanding and
contracting of the lungs, for example. Specifically,
Mesothelioma affects the lining of the lung and chest
cavity. There are some cases, too, that the lining of
the abdomen (peritoneum) is the one affected. These two
types of Mesothelioma cancer are known as Pleural
Mesothelioma (affecting the lungs) and Peritoneal
Mesothelioma (affecting the abdomen).Symptoms of Pleural Mesothelioma include panting,
persistence of cough, loss of weight, fever and chest
pain. On the other hand, Peritoneal Mesothelioma may
cause swelling and pain of the abdomen and also weight
loss. During the early stages of Mesothelioma, the
symptoms are non-specific; thus, the disease is not
immediately identified. Also, the symptoms are often
mistaken as signs of pneumonia. There are instances too
that the patient doesn’t show any sign of this deadly
cancer.If a patient manifests any of the said symptoms, he
must immediately seek a physician’s help. Usually, an
xray is required to clearly see the abnormalities in
the lungs (in the case of Pleural Mesothelioma).
Indications of a Mesothelioma cancer include a build-up
of fluid between the pleura covering of the chest wall
and the diaphragm. In normal conditions, the
mesothelial cells produce only small amount of fluid
enough to lubricate the space between the chest wall
and the lung.The chance of a patient’s recovery from Mesothelioma
depends on the extent or stage of the disease and
location of the disease. Furthermore, the person’s age
and the way he responds to treatment and medication can
tell whether he can survive the cancer or not.
Generally the patient’s option for treatment include:
surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and anticancer

Credit Counseling - Signs That You May Need Help

Credit counseling is a viable option for those who are feeling the stress of being overwhelmed by debt. Credit counseling primarily offers assistance with working out a credit and debt repayment plan for an individual to gain control of their finances by creating a structured budget for an individual to follow. Credit counseling offers an individual the option to repay their debts, if needed, through a credit counseling debt repayment program. This is where the credit counseling organization becomes in contact with an individuals creditor to ask for lowered interest rates and for the credit provider to stop any late and over the limit fees that may be attached to a particular credit card.
Credit counseling organizations that provide a no charge credit and money management education program for an individual typically have the individual consumer's best interest on their mind.Credit counseling may be needed if the following signs are present:1. Are you using more and more of your income to pay your debts?
This becomes a problem if you are at the point where the money going out is less than or nearly less than the money coming in. Credit counseling would be a wise choice. Speaking to a credit counseling organization at this point can help because in a counseling session you may find that by sticking to a sound budget you may be able to avoid additional help. The best part is the counseling sessions should be at no charge, make sure of that before speaking to an agency.2. Do you make only the minimum payments due on your loans and credit cards each month?
Look at your budget, that is review what dollars are coming in and how those dollars are going out. You may find that by tweaking your budget you may be able to avoid credit counseling by implementing a plan of savings through following your own plan. This should allow you to free up more money to be more aggressive in repaying your debt. Credit counseling may be needed if you have reviewed your budget and can't find additional funds to pay more than the minimum amounts to your credit cards. Paying only the minimum to your credit cards will only prolong the length of time needed to repay your debt. Some credit cards may charge such a high interest rate that it could take years upon years to pay off with minimum payments.3. Are you near, at, or over the credit limit on your credit cards?
Once a credit card is nearing it's available balance or even worse if the credit card is over it's credit limit it is time to take aggressive action to pay down the balance. If this is a situation you are finding yourself in try finding additional dollars to bring your balances down. It is recommended that when doping this you do not open another credit account or take a consolidation loan to repay these accounts as more often than not taking a loan to pay a loan will result in more debt being owed. If you can't find the dollars to apply towards the credit cards try speaking to a credit counseling organization. They may be able to lay out a plan for you to repay the debt on your own, or through their own credit counseling services.4. Are you paying your bills with money intended for other things?
If you find yourself "robbing Peter to pay Paul" with your credit cards it may be acceptable if you are replacing the dollars that are going to unnecessary items such as cable TV., cell phone payments…etc. Just as long as those accounts have been paid and you are not accruing any more fees from them. However if you find yourself using dollars that are intended for necessary items such as a car payment, a house loan, food, etc. then you are most likely in a situation where credit counseling is an option you may need to look into. Look at speaking to a certified credit counselor that will offer a solution to your financial needs. Getting out of the red is very important, the sooner you take action the better.5. Are you borrowing money or using credit cards to pay for things you used to buy with cash?
This can be very problematic when you are utilizing your credit to purchase things like groceries, fuel or other disposable goods. If you are currently in the act of doing this review your finances to determine if you can avoid making these purchases with your credit. If this can't be avoided try speaking to a credit counseling organization. They should be able to give you the tools needed to avoid this costly practice.6. Do you often pay your bills late?
There are a few reasons on why an individual may frequently pay their bills after the due date. One of the main reasons is that there isn't a budget in place to follow, therefore rendering the payments of the debt to the instance of when a person gets paid. If a payment is due on the 25th and a individual is paid on the 30th this typically develops into a past due payment. This is due to the fact that the majority of people live from one paycheck to the next. Creating a savings account and a budget plan will resolve this issue for the most part. Paying bills late on a regular basis may also be attributed to an individual being upside down with their debts, meaning that there is more money going out regularly than coming in. Once this point is reached it may be time to speak to a credit counseling organization. It is urgent to seek help at this point in order to order to avoid long lasting damage to your credit.Regardless of your situation it is important to seek help when feeling the pinch of being upside down or behind with your finances. Taking measures early will result in less dollars that go out in the long run. The Perfect Fitting Dress Shirt For The Big And Tall Man

Outfitting Matthew Tullis used to be a tall order.At 6 foot 7 inches tall, he frequented the big and tall dress shirt departments of local retailers in West Jordan, Utah, just outside of Salt Lake City. But even when the size seemed right, the look was all wrong."I'd go to Nordstrom's or some other store and tell the clerk my neck size and sleeve length, 16 and a half neck and 37 sleeve, and I'd always have trouble with the shirt. I'm a thin person, and the shirts weren't made for people like me, so either the sleeves were too short or the neck was too big. And the shirt was always baggy in the body. I began to think that bad fit was just par for the course," shrugs Matthew. "It got to the point where I really didn't care. I wasn't very picky." As a church leader and a father of three, though, Matthew felt an increasing need to ensure his appearance matched his growing responsibilities."I've never been very worried about what other people think, but in this case it came down to something bigger than me; my religion. When it had to do with my church calling, I felt it was important to look my best and to set a good example," explains Matthew.Desperate for a better answer, he turned to the Internet. Somewhere out there, he reasoned, had to be well-priced, good looking shirts for big and tall men who were more tall than big. The option of custom-made clothing never occurred to him. Parenting Tips - Baby's First Year

Parenting Tips As a working mother of a busy eight month old daughter, the one thing I do not have much of is time. The NYU Child Study Center (www.aboutourkids.org) published a great 12 page article about the first five years of childhood. My aim is to condense the material about the first year in an article for the time-challenged. In the first five years a child learns language, motor skills, complex thinking, and develops socially and emotionally.LANGUAGE Language skills develop rapidly in children. A one month old child can respond to voices. A three month old will coo, and a four month old is able to turn toward noise in a room. Between birth and four months a child with intentionally make sounds, such as laughing out loud. By three months most babies can distinguish between the voice other their mother and another female. The five to eight month old is able to string sounds together such as dadaba. She will talk to get the attention of a caregiver and wants to interact with familiar people. Between nine and 12 months, she is able to call Mama and Dada by name. She will be able to link names to objects, and can follow simple commands such as where is your nose.MOVEMENTSIn just a short years time, a child goes from having little control over her movements to being able to crawl or walk. Between birth and four months a baby can hold her head up for 10 seconds and will push up on her hands while laying on her tummy. A child five to eight months old can move to objects she wants and will be able to pick up small items such as food or toys. Between nine to 12 months, she will be able to walk by holding onto furniture and even stand alone.THINKING It does not take long for a baby to start thinking about her surroundings. Between birth and four months she will turn her head toward sound and start to follow objects with her eyes. It is normal to explore by putting things in her mouth. (It also helps with teething.) The five to eight month old will discover her body such as her feet. She will be learning cause and effect by dropping objects and pushing buttons. She will also look for hidden toys. By nine to 12 months she can imitate actions. She will notice when someone leaves the room and will anticipate his return. She will be able to say no and bye-bye while making the appropriate gestures.SOCIAL Newborns are ready for social interaction from the start. In the first year, children are able to play interactive games, respond to no, and will search for people or pets if mentioned by name. EMOTIONAL Each child has her own personality. When the child and the caregiver are in accord, a safe and secure base is formed to allow the child to grow emotionally and socially. Between birth and four months a baby will smile and laugh when spoken to. She will know her caregivers voice and face. The five to eight month old child will show pleasure and anger. She will begin to prefer familiar people and will start to show an interest in other children. Between eight and 12 months, she will respond to her own image in the mirror. She will test rules, and will probably fuss when confined in a small place such as a play pen. Five major developments: language, movement, thought, and social/emotional skills, in one short year. If you have read my testimony, you know that I have struggled with panic attacks and an anxiety disorder that most of the time left my tongue paralyzed when it came to simple things, such as ordering a meal or answering the phone. God delivered me from the solitude I had imprisoned myself in. However, I had a new problem--now I talked too much. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have started to monitor my words and have been shocked by what I discovered. Complaining...gossiping...fault-finding...even negative words and word curses. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Matthew 12:36 says But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day judgment for every careless word they have spoken. I don't know about you, but I think it's time to get our mouths in order. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;According to Proverbs 18:21, death and life are in the power of the tongue. Deuteronomy 30:19 makes it even clearer by saying This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When God created the world, Genesis 1:3 says And God said, &quot;Let there be light,&quot; and there was light. He gave you that same power to speak things into existence. You might be thinking &quot;how is that possible?&quot; &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Mark 11:23 states &quot;I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, `Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. According to this verse, you can have what you say--negative or positive. Throughout the Bible, especially in Proverbs, God speaks about our mouths. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;James 3:3-10 shows us that our tongues are like a bit in a horse's mouth. With that bit in place, you can control the animal, turn it any way you want it to go. Or like a ship that can be steered by a small rudder. Our tongues are little, but they can contaminate our whole bodies and the lives of others around us. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We are the only creatures created by God that can choose what we say. Although a parrot can talk, he can't choose the words that come out of his mouth. He only repeats what he hears. Verse 9 notes With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. and Verse 10--Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In church or around godly friends, we praise God and talk about what the Bible says. When we arrive home, when we are in a jam--lost our car keys, , had an argument or our teenage daughter announces she's pregnant, we complain, gossip and, believe it or not, we even curse people and ourselves with our words. Have you ever called a person &quot;stupid,&quot; said you wished they were dead or that you were never born? Those are all word curses. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Charles Capps speaks of a woman in his book God's Creative Power for Healing. Whenever this woman got mad, she would say &quot;that just burns me up.&quot; She would say it several times a day. For several months, the woman continued to have a fever, but the doctors couldn't figure out why. She had no physical reason to have a fever. Then the doctor asked her about her habits. When he found out she had been saying &quot;that just burns me up,&quot; he told her to stop. He wasn't sure if it had anything to do with the fever. Within weeks, her fever left her. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Did you know that angels are all around you, just waiting to carry out your words of faith? When you speak negatively, you cancel out the positive words you have spoken. James 1:8--He is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. A double-minded person is one who has one foot in the world's way of thinking and one foot in God's promises. God is calling us to choose one and be steadfast in that thinking and that thinking only. The Bible says that God would prefer that we either be hot or cold rather than lukewarm Christians. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, how do we start to change our mouths? &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1) Ask God For Help. Make Psalm 141:3 Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips. your daily prayer. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2) Renew Your Mind. Romans 12:1-2 says Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. By changing your thoughts, you will change your mouth because Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) reveals For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Memorize scriptures on the mouth. Meditate on them by thinking about them, reciting them, mulling them over in your mind. Make them personal to you by inserting your name into the scripture, such &quot;For God so loved Annagail that he gave his one and only Son, that Annagail who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Then try to visual yourself speaking and thinking according to God's Word. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;3) Monitor Your Mouth. A wise person watches the words that come out of his/her mouth.. Ask God to convict you when you utter wrong words, use profanities or cut someone down. When you get into a bad situation, Philippians 4:8 says to Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;4) Start to prophesy over your own life. God told us to calleth those things which be not as though they were.(Romans 4:17 KJV). As long as it lines up with God's will, you can speak out what you want as long as you keep speaking it and believing it in your heart. Speak God's promises over your life. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;5) Use your mouth to exhort and encourage others. Begin to pray God's word of your life and the lives of your friends and family. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am still struggling in this area, but every day I am growing up more in Christ. We must train our mouths and flesh to conform to God's Word.
