I want to give you a free web page template that will be
search engine friendly. Why?Well, I assume you want your web page to come up as high as
possible in search engines because that generates free
traffic.On the other hand, your page has to deliver value to your
visitors. Most people on the web are not searching to buy
something. They're surfing the web to find information to
solve a problem or fill their needs. If your page delivers
that, they'll be back.Fortunately that is exactly what search engines want you to
do.
Their job is to present the best web pages possible to any
search action. How do they do that?Well, to be honest: I don't know! The only people who do
know are the developers of search engine software. And there
are a lot of experts on the web who try to find out how they
do it. But that's a full time job and I don't have time for
that.The only thing I know is that search enines can't see what
we see on a web page. Just go to any page and click 'View
Source' in the menu of your browser. That's how they see a
page. They spider it, analyze it and perform some
arithmetics with it, way beyond my comprehension.
But they can't read images or graphics or flash and they
(still) have a lot of troubles with Javascript, dynamic
generated pages, fancy menus and frames.
Their software only does exactly what it is programmed to
do. With millions and millions of pages on the web, they
can't solve every possible situation. It's just a general
approach.So, if you make it easy for the engine software to spider
and interpret your web pages, there's a big chance you come
up high in their rankings. At least you have a big
advantage.
That's why I always use a simple HTML-editor. It does
exactly what I put into my pages and it doesn't include
extra coding. Right now I'm using AceHTML Freeware, but I
also like Arachnophilia a lot.If the above is true, and I think it is, then your pages
have to be as simple as possible. It should be a clean
mixture between text and HTML tags, with lots of text and as
few tags as possible.Still, you have to include some techniques to satisfy the
search engine software. There are a few point you have to
keep in mind:1. the name of a web page should alwasy be the main keyword
of that page; don't mix keywords; instead write seperate
pages for each keyword and link them;
2. always include the main keyword in the Title-tag; keep
the Title limited to 7 or 8 words;
3. always include the Description and Keyword tags and use
your main keyword here; although these tags are less and
less important at the time of writing this article, you'll
never know if that's going to change in future;
4. always use one H tag and include your main keyword in it;
5. always use one IMG tag and include your keyword in the
ALT variable;
6. put your navigation and menu on the right side, so your
text is investigated first;
7. try to use your main keyword in an anchor (A) text; I use
a link at the bottom of every page to the top;
8. use your main keyword at the very beginning and at the
end of your text; include some variatons like plurals; don't
overdue this!An excellent way to test if your web page is well designed
is to use a free software program that analyzes your page.

Weight Loss Plateaus -- 7 Easy Steps to Overcome It

Have you ever experienced this scenario before?

"I have successfully lost 15 of the 25 pounds that I want to
lose, but now I am stuck at the same weight even though I am
faithfully controlling my food intake and doing my exercises.
What happened? Is the diet not working anymore?"

Yes, many women over 40 start off their weight loss programs
full of excitement and determination, and indeed you do see the
pounds dropping off over the first few weeks.

That's great, of course.

However, the next thing you know is that your progress has come
to a dead stop...

...and you have just hit the dreaded weight loss "plateau."

But don't despair -- you are _not_ the only one experiencing
this.

Hitting a plateau is a common experience for most women over 40
on a weight loss program.

And it can be one of the most de-motivating things to happen.

Thankfully, overcoming it is easy... IF you know the simple
steps you can take.

Today, I'm going to show you some very simple and specific steps
you can take to overcome your plateaus:

1. Be careful of the little things: It's easy to lapse into
complacency over time, so I suggest that you keep a food diary.
Writing down what you eat each day can help you to spot those
times when you might be taking in more food than you realize. A
little snack here and there can (and will) add up to a lot of
extra calories.

2. It may not be the food: Sometimes, it's not the food per se
that is the cause of the plateau. For example, work or family
stress may be the culprit instead. Stress can cause you to want
to go dig into that tub of chocolate ice cream. If you are
feeling stressed, it's important to acknowledge it right now,
and go find some other forms of relief other than reaching out
for more (typically unhealthy) food. Go take a walk, listen to
music or play with your dog instead!

3. Start off on the right foot: You got to eat something for
breakfast every day. Not only will you start the day with your
stomach feeling satisfied, eating breakfast actually kick starts
your metabolism so that you'll burn more calories throughout the
day.

4. Eat more often: Instead of eating 3 big regular meals each
day, opt to have 5 smaller meals. After you eat, your body
releases the hormone insulin, which causes your body to store
fat. The larger the meal, the more insulin your body releases.
But smaller, more frequent meals keep insulin levels lower and
more stable. The less insulin you have in your blood, the more
fat you burn, and the less you store.

5. Try water first: If you're feeling "hungry," try drinking a
glass of water first before you go grab something to much on.
Sometimes we confuse thirst for hunger, and end up eating more
food unnecessarily. If the water doesn't make that hunger pang
go away, you can always grab something to eat later. And the
bonus is that the water would have helped you to feel fuller, so
you don't have to eat as much!

6. Avoid snacks at night: After you've had your dinner, do not
snack or eat supper. And never ever eat just before you go to
bed. Take it from Oprah -- she says that one of her secrets to
her successful weight loss is that she does not eat anything
after 7:30pm... not even a grape.

7. Try a weekly one-day "cleanse": Choose 1 day in the week to
cleanse your system by taking only vegetable juices. And please
use fresh vegetable juices if you can, and avoid the canned
stuff that are chock-full of sodium or added sugars!

Apply these 7 simple steps and you too will be able to overcome
those plateaus easily.

180-Mile Ride in the New Mexico Mountains: Cyclist Challenge

Springer NM to Dulce NM is a mountain ride you will never forget. What is that famous line; There is no easy way. If you have never used the down hills on a long-distance to recuperate, you will need to on this ride as it is a living hell of up and down hills, sharp corners and unfortunately a little road construction as well. There are also burned out fire areas, which actually resemble what hell might look like and if you ride off one of those clips you might just find out?We start out in Springer NM and travel North for our warm up miles and turn left to go West on highway 58 to Cimerron, NM where we pick up Highway 64 for our trek across New Mexico's toughest terrain. The folks in this part of New Mexico are some of the nicest people in America and it must be the American Indian mixed cultures, they are truly great Americans indeed. Cimerron was your wake up call and you have ridden only 14 miles, but you are already feeling the pain in your legs. Get use to it.Twenty-five more miles and we are in the small tourist town of Eagle's Nest and the terrain all around us now makes sense to such a name. Fifteen more miles and we are in Angle Fire and we need a rest, but it is not wise to rest now, we have so much more to go. So we sip from our water bottles at the next hill crest, try to hyperventilate ourselves, as the air is much thinner up here and then feel the rush of breeze as we cycle our pedals and loosen those muscles, but pay attention, high speeds will wear out our brakes and there is not a bike shop within 125 miles.We can rest in Taos, a tourist ritzy town only 20 more miles and two more hills; up and down again. Wouldn't be nice if the map showed us those in advance? Maybe not, we may decide not to go? Yes, that is a thought isn't it? Well, all the Yuppies come up to us and ask us how far we are going and almost choke on the Lattes when we tell them Coast-to-Coast and once we get done with these hills, it is almost all down hill from here. The rest are pussycat foothills compared to this elevation.Hard to believe there is civilization way up here? Interesting. Even somewhat sparsely populated, I can see why the Indians chose this area to live. Well 45 miles until the next hair raising set of mountains, hope we have the energy for them. How long does this Highway 64 go for again, we stop at yet another cross roads to look at the map. One hell of a long way is the answer, which comes to mind.We finally reach the ominous canyon road area and more of this for the next 35 miles and then some more breathtaking beauty and breath-taking hill climbs too. We are not quite half-way on the day and it is already well into the afternoon so we better get a move on. We try to pick up the pace, this lasts about 10-miles and we are beat to hell. More highway intersections, one leads to a lake and yet we are not going anywhere near it, but occasionally we can see it in the distance. The map says it is; Lake Heron, yah a smaller version, that's nice, I am thirsty. Only 50 more miles, but my legs are history and I pray for just one more downhill to rejuvenate myself, luckily rumor has it that there are two more moderate ones and one good downgrade, bad news there are three inclines two and they add up to 3,000 feet.
