Is There A Payday In This?

People bring me lots of deals, offers of alliances, and miscellaneous opportunities—at least that's how they characterize them.And I have a very simple question that I use to deflate their hype and to bring their rosy rhetoric down to earth:"Is there a payday in this?"You can't imagine how well this works for me.Recently, for example, I was told about a new company, slightly beyond start-up stage; that is positioned for rapid growth, and it needs products like my audios and videos and "live" seminars as content.At first, that sounded pretty good, a nice symbiosis.I have lots and lots of nifty, original content. That's what I'm good at creating, and if they can distribute it, efficiently, hey, we're off to the races, right?Wrong.It seems they want goodies but they're kind of strapped for cash.Actually, what they're really looking for are investors.Well, my question cut to the heart of the matter. I need dollars to flow to me on a nice schedule. I'm not sending dollars the other way.No payday, means Gary can't play.The last time I used this line, in an email as it happened, my counterpart actually blanched. I knew it, because he repeated the word, payday, disparagingly.I haven't heard from him since!You should try this line because it puts the proverbial rubber to the road!Dr. Gary S.
